I could just swoon over this bohemian alternative wedding all day long.If there is one bit of advise I always tell my couples is be completely yourselves and do your wedding your way! As Sian says, ‘ f*** the traditions. It is a day literally about you two and the day should be unique as you are. Really think about every aspect of the day and if it relates to you, if it doesn’t then its out. Don’t wear white if you don’t want to, walk yourself down the aisle, go barefoot, and even have your dog there……It’s your wedding.
Sian and Neil had their boho chic wedding at the gorgeous Bysshe Court Barn in Surrey this past summer on what had to be the HOTTEST day of the year!! This working Dairy Farm has recently been refurbished to accommodate weddings. It is just picture perfect with its exposed brick work and high beams perfect for any rustic style wedding. Sian and Neil really threw out tradition when it came to their wedding. They wanted it to be just about them. They walked each other down the isle, brought their dog Murphy and did shots of tequila during their vows. This is totally my kind of wedding!!
Sian wore the most stunning alternative wedding dress from Sweet Caroline Styles in America. Most brides have to try on quite a few wedding dresses before they find ‘ the one’ but Sian gambled and ordered her dress online! It was a huge gamble which massively paid off and she looked absolutely gorgeous.
Sian and Neil wanted the day to be all about their love story . Everything was planned to perfection and incorporated so many personal details including foraging together for most of the greenery a few days before the wedding. As the day came to an end, I took them out for some epic sunset portraits. They both kicked off their shoes and we went for a little walk to some nearby fields. For me I like to stand back a little and let couples have some time of their own. This is so important on the day as you never get the chance to do this. It allowed Sian & Neil ( who hates getting his photo taken ) some lovely time alone which really brings out the ‘magic’ in the photos.
I couldn’t of asked for a more perfect day or couple! Here are some of my favourites from this dream wedding day..
Lou was so much more like another friend of ours at the wedding. Having her there with us just added to the day and helped us feel so relaxed and in the moment. When we went off for our couple photos at sunset it was such a special moment for us and it really felt like it was just me and Neil. We never felt awkward or uncomfortable and I think that shows in the beautiful pictures we now have. Lou is such a talented photographer and we feel so blessed to have had her at our wedding.
